The weird thing is that the actual creature avatar shows up when I select the planet, but the creatures are invisible once in the game...

Oh it more than meets it. Everything looks amazing with full graphics and plays smooth as a whistle. This creature just won't show up . He has 4 heads--it's similar to a cerebus (sp?) but then with a face on his belly--so maybe that has something to do with it...

Have you tried to make a new creature?  Are all the creatures invisible or just yours? 

My guess is that no one (here) knows enough about the game yet to have a solution for you.

Those are the creatures that are sent into the game by EA, I believe.  It may have something to do with their database.

I know... EA is so greedy that they will be selling special glasses to wear so you can see these creatures... Marketing bastards!

I found this fix on the Sporeum Forums:

If your creature disappears:
1) Go into your creature folder where the .png images are stored and remove the creature in question to another folder.
2) Restart scc.
3) Exit scc.
4) Put the original .png file back into creature folder.
5) Restart scc
6) Go to sporepedia, your creature should now appear in the "Everything" tab.
7) Edit creature (make a small change and change it back to original, eg. resize something)
Save creature, should now appear in your creature section.
9) Make sure you have two copies of the same item, Delete old creature.

Thanks for all the help dad... haha.

Here is a picture of the creature. I came across it as an "epic" version of itself while playing a different game. Funny... the creature still does not show up when I try to play with it as my creation of choice, but shows up in other games...

Sounds like a bug in the game.  The code for that critter may not agree with the code for the world where the critter disappears.
