http://www.tpb3d.net/showthread.php?tid=1276&action=lastpost

That is the posting on how to use this new utility still in the works. Basically it allows you to import several ride parts and animate them with motion and finally compile a working ride for sharing with the community. Of course only the very best rides will be official and I can assure you the coders of TPB3D are seriously eyeing polys. So far we have almost ten flat ride finished and ready to roll when the FRCS comes out, more than ten in progress and schematics for well over 200 of the most popular rides with over 5,000 flat ride scehems in the background.

Has it hit you yet? Someone can take the existing flatride FRCS file retheme it and there is another ride. We are talking tens of thousands of flat ride and variations that go on and on and on. Current rides I listed in the other topic but figured that one is loaded with posts so this is aimed primarily at what we have in the FRCS. Once you read that link, you will suddenly realize this is unlike anything that has ever been out there before, and this doesn't even encompass tracked rides like the TRCS "Track Ride Construction Set" or the DRCS "Dark Ride Construction Set" or the new ECS "Events Construction Set" which will allow you to make events that can be triggered by almost any game aspect as it has been proposed.

So far the ride modelers have uploaded their flat rides in .3ds format and now they are all outdoing each other for bragging rights while the rest of the community will eventually catch up.

Updated: 07-06-2007

Rides added to the finished list

Thunder Bolt/Flying Bobs/Alpine Bobs  (Nailed)

Many scenery modelers now onboard.

Many more flat rides in the pipeline and being worked on.

Just a few rides...we have many more finished and in the works. By the way, many scenerymakers are now onboard and we are rolling. This is coming together rapidly, so for those who are doubting the future is really seriously happening and more than anyone can imagine these guys in the community, I would put them against any corporate talents any day and that goes for the coders and everyone involved in this. This communisty is fantastic and I stand awe inspired by the tremendous and endless talent of them.

Many new rides will be forthcoming in the pipeline to the already 20 plus that exist in the repository for the FRCS now. In addition we will have a very realistic Skyway with many car options and track will go in any direction.

Historical rides some that never even became reality, Lots of Kids Rides, something that was sorely missing in RCT3, and many different car types for the TRCS to make track rides for the community to build their rides off of, all on their way. This all happening at a time when base coding for the game is winding up in the next few months.

Many have begun authoring scenery packs for the official release themes in the original game release, and a new sound group will be creating our sounds for the game, rides peeps and other things. It is all becoming a relaity while other RCG's are tanking bigtime or just doing so-so...so stay tuned, lots more to come...the old tpb3d forums were moved to a new host so hopefully not too much downtime from this point on.

More rides added and the FRCS is still on schedule to be released as an alpha standalone module to assemble the original flat rides, meanwhile 3DS is the adopted format for all non animated model parts including scenery and show pieces, BG pieces etc.

We want modelers to come aboard and get involved, this isn't going away anytime soon, even if that other 3d amusement park game comes back to life, we will continue developing our gameplan and it will remain open source and free to everyone, so come have fun making ride parts and getting involved. anyone wanting to contact me can reach me at

mpsebar  at  tpb3d.net

anyhow if you want to help make stuff for the billions who follow later on, now is the time. We have many flatrides open to model and remember we also need theme parts for existing rides as well. Just remember to keep the poly count low...thanks.

Updated 06-06-2008

Monorails added to the repository officially and the wiki was updated. So I will amend the rides in this posting.Actually the release date is more like mid 2009 give or take and depending on how many additional coders take the base coding for the project. The FRCS however to make flatrides and themed variations is within 3 months again give or take and depending if the coders are satisfied with it.Considering that there are now 21 flat rides and 4 tracked rides with many more in the pipeline, this means you can begin to assemble the initial 21 flat rides and then variants of them mix and match parts and create even more new flatrides to be used in the game. Be aware though that as FRCS ridemakers the early road may be bumpy as the coding will have to be tweaked and while additional interface additions are added to the raw application. But the project is moving along and much of the base coding has to date been nailed including full networking capabilities, in fact TPB3D will be internet savvy. So stand alone parks on your computer or parks hosted across a server should both work fine as long as the users have enough bandwidth. Remember that in a short time Internet 2 is coming along with speeds hundreds of times faster then the average dsl/cable speeds of today so the app will work with that even in much better realtime.Interactive and sequenced rides. Many rides will be able to have key mapping which means that FRCS ridemakers will be able to add and assign what keys control what features of a ride. For instance the Intamin AG Flight Trainer might have keys that allow you to roll your ride capsule in either direction and go up or down and this can also apply possibly to mouse assignment as well. With key mapping added, this would mean endless possibilities for each ride and its variant. This feature is still being discussed and has been announced as being available in the upcoming flatrides.Sequencer rides like the Huss Claw would allow you to assign a chorus of patterns that make the ride follow a sequence. The sequencer option would be added to an existing ride by the FRCS ridemaker who compiles that ride version for the game. Sequencer events also might include ride triggers such as for the monorails they trip a ride sequence such as fireworks, music or a display item like an explosion of rocks or a tidal wave of water etc. So not only will tracked rides be able to accomplish this but flat rides as well. One ride that comes to mind is a breakdance, you can automate it to do many things including music, lights, smoke changes and speed up/slow down moves all through the sequencer.

Update and yes this is more or less a committment time. The Flat Ride Construction Set or "FRCS" as TPB3D'ers know it will be released working mainly on PC's at first in September 2008. By early July we should have about 40 flat rides ready to nail give or take as we are rapidly approaching 30 right now and will surpass that by the end of the month with many more in the pipeline.

If you can do 3D modeling we definitely need your help for this community which also is your community as this project is owned by everyone involved. We need you to make the assembly parts for the different flat rides and can help you get drawings to work with and aid you in the development so we can rapidly grow the repository of rides we are building. Remember that ridemakers using the FRCS will be able to mix and match existing parts of rides in the game which means people can create never before seen rides, so the possibilities grow endless, though right now we want to nail down the real rides as possible and theme parts to go along with them.

We also will need people to model scenery packs for us and bring their existing work to the new game. Together we own this not a corporation so we are all involved in making it the best it can be.

Much more coding has progressed as other parts of it are getting nailed as well, so come join us if you haven't and lets continuie growing this and having fun together. The Future Is Ours as our offcial motto holds, has been and now that we realize this, it will continue to grow in the communities hands. Good luck and hope to see you modelers and everyone else onboard. Nothing but fun times ahead for the longterm!!!

You are welcome Marnetmar. We are looking forward when you will migrate to the game owned and for and by the community. The community owns this which means you and everyone else do as well, and we do have a need for more modelers to come aboard. The coding is starting to seriously come together which is always the slowest part, but it is happening. We never give up, so come aboard and bring all your older work too, we have a place for everyone especially with almost 50 approved theme categories by the community vote. We shall always welcome you and others as our friends and TPB3D family...!

Unlike another game we will have several carousel sizes and a double deck carousel to ride on and each will have animal packs to make different carousels available in the FRCS.

Animal pack #01 is going into the repository for usage and more animal packs will follow. The animals are about 200 polys each, and the varieties will climb as new packs are added on for the carousels.

Added two new carousels, which include a small and Doubledecler carousel. The grand carousel will be out as the previous carousel was misnamed and actually a standard sized carousel, so the game will have four carousel and either 3 or 4 animal/chariot /bench packs so that carousels will have a variety. By the way the animals should be able to be color changable depending on the FRCS ridemakers who compile them. The Eyerly dual bucket Octopus, and Eyerly Single and Dual Pod rides are now in the repository and waiting for the FRCS release which is now only a few weeks away or less, though the official target date is September bearing anything unforseen.

The initial release version 1 will be crude but some coders indicated that a slick interface will be implemented atop what already will be there so it's all happening. I queried coders on the time frame and the reason so long, is that the game will be fully net savvy so you will as mentioned be able to host parks and possibly through "Park Piping" a term we use at the TPB3D forums, be able to link parks in a community. Same as Ride Piping which links exit queues of rides with entry queues of other rides. It's all happening so stay tuned for more news as it happens. We now have over 42 flat rides with many more on the way including a large sailing ship, several large paddlewheeler riverboats and several different types of historical jungle cruise boats too...we do need scenery and more ride modelers though. Blender is now the official modeling tool of choice and we have a blender support section up as well. Any modelers who visit, just PM sebar you are a modeler and preference either ride or scenery or both and he will get you update at the forums there asap...!
